Time for You - Support Group

Start the year anew by taking time for you! 

Through the usage of talk, expressive therapies, and mindfulness techniques, this six-week group for adults will teach group members how to take better care of themselves mentally and physically.

Group members will:

- Learn the definition, importance, and benefits of practicing self-care.

- Learn how to implement self-care techniques into their daily lives.

- Develop an individualized self-care plan.

- Meet others in a safe and supportive environment.

This group will run for six weeks on Wednesdays from 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM. 

The group begins on Wednesday, February 21st and ends on Wednesday, March 27th. 

Groups will be held online via Google Meets. 

Group participants must attend all scheduled groups and complete an intake assessment prior to attendance.

How many people will be in this group?

This group will have a maximum number of 8 participants. 

Do I need to have any materials ready for the group?

Yes.  Since we will be writing and making artwork, please have a notebook and any preferable drawing materials handy (colored pencils, markers, pastels, etc.) 

I'm not an artist! Do I have to be good at art to be in this group?

No!  The emphasis in art therapy is on the process, not the product. 

How will the group be structured?

Each group will have a beginning phase, working phase (talking, activity), and ending phase.  The beginning and ending phases of each group will be discussed during the first group meeting.  The group leader will have specific topics/activities that will be covered each week.  You may also be asked to complete homework assignments in between groups to be discussed during the next group meeting.
